Chapter 3
By wind
“I just had an idea,” Haruka said, turning to face Seiya.
“That’s impossible, you’re…” Seiya wanted to continue but Haruka
interrupted her.
“So, why do you care?” Seiya didn’t answer and Haruka didn’t speak anymore.
After a long pause, Haruka felt the need to break the silence. “Tell me,
what is your planet like?”
“…. It is a planet that is smaller than Earth…only one kingdom and it is
full of Kinmoku. Everyone
is living peacefully there.” Seiya loved her planet. Her voice was full of
delight; maybe she didn’t notice that she was smiling when she was talking
about her home.
“Peaceful…it’s exactly the opposite here.” Haruka sighed.
“But you guys will rule the Earth, and then it will be just like our
planet.”
“No…at least not now, our princess and prince are not ready for that yet.”
Haruka moved her car to another lane without looking back as she was speaking.
“That’s why you are still living here as a student.” Seiya finally
understood how come the Earth was just the same as she came one year ago.
Both of them went quiet again.
Suddenly, without any warning, Haruka told Seiya to hold on and then
changed the gear level from 3 to 5. Soon the car speed had risen from 100/km to
220/km. The high-speed pressure went all over Seiya’s body, which made her feel
sick. All she could do was hold the handle tightly.
“Someone wants to race with me.” Haruka pointed at the rear-view mirror. Seiya tried hard to look back; there was a black car right behind Haruka’s blue Ferrari. Seiya turned to Haruka; she was just as joyful as if the race didn’t exist. The race just started about 15 minutes ago but Haruka had already thrown off the black car. Haruka moved her eyes to Seiya, realizing Seiya looked terribly sick. Seiya’s face was green and her lips were white.
Haruka unexpectedly stopped the car at the side of the seaside curve and let Seiya get out off the car.
“Arrrr…” Seiya bolted from her seat. The high speed had made her wanted to vomit. If Haruka hadn’t of stopped, she was sure she would have thrown up there.
“Are you alright?” Haruka asked.
“I’m…fine…” Seiya sat aside to get rest. Haruka went to a near by snack bar and bought two bottles of water back.
After drinking the water, Seiya felt better. She closed her eyes and relaxed. Her faced wasn’t green anymore. The wind blew at the two girls with a heavy smell of salt. Coincidentally, the sun was setting when they arrived there. They had been away from the house for almost two hours.
“Feel better now?” Haruka asked, sitting beside Seiya.
“Yep…” Seiya opened her eyes and saw the orange-yellow sky and the sea surface. That made her felt comfortable deep within her heart.
They sat together and watched the setting sun, then Haruka suddenly laughed.
“Hey, don’t we look just like a couple?”
“Well… yes… and we look more like gays than lesbians,” Seiya joked. But truly, they were alike. One dressed in a boy school uniform, one wore a shit and trousers.
Haruka smiled back to her.
“Haruka, have you found someone you like?” Seiya asked, turning to face the other woman.
“I think…maybe I can say yes.” Haruka wasn’t sure about that at all.
“Is it Michiru?” Seiya believed that if Haruka had someone she liked, Michiru would be the first choice.
“No, of course not.” Haruka grinned.
“Liar. Aren’t you always together?” Seiya couldn’t believe if the two of
them were not lovers, then why did they always stay with each other?
“She is just my best friend, not lover. Never.” Haruka denied Seiya’s words
again.
“Then…who is it?”
“Can’t tell.” Haruka answered and asked Seiya the same question.
“No, not now.” Seiya replied. She was in love with the one before,
but she had given up already.
“Then, have you ever thought about whether your next lover will be male or
female?” Haruka thoughtlessly asked Seiya. She had no interest about who Seiya’s
lover was before. But she wanted to know whether Seiya liked guys or not.
“Well then…I guess…it would be a girl…”said Seiya thoughtfully. “You like
girls, don’t you?”
Haruka just smiled and said nothing.
That night, Usagi and all the other girls went to a famous Japanese
restaurant for dinner. After the supper, everyone went home. Haruka found out
it wasn’t difficult to live with the four guests. However, the strange thing
was, she couldn’t stop her eyes chasing Seiya after they met.
Why did she care so much about Seiya?
